Shannon had been thinking of getting a dog for quite some time. Her and I discussed breeds, when she would walk him, who would take care of him if she ever was deployed (I volunteered, of course). Finally, she decided to go with a rescue dog.
Gilbert or Gills or Gilly as we call him has found a wonderful home with her. Whenever I see pictures of him, he’s usually snuggled up asleep on her couch. Getting a rescue dog, and all the quirks that come with them, isn’t always easy. But, I think they have found a steady rhythm and are both thankful for the friendship they have found with each other.
